Live Digital Painting

Hey everyone!

Here is some more of my recent work and a couple that are from a little while ago. The hyena one was an early stage composition of the final image I did a few months ago. Also the mountain scene is just a smaller part of a larger illustration I hope to finish soon.

One is a matte painting I start last week and hoping to finish very soon and a character design. I hope to keep practicing character in the near future as I really enjoy it. I will start some gesture drawings soon.

Thanks!

20 min sketch over photo.

I wanted to do a sketch based on my current work in progress but from another view of the city. I an planning on refining the ideas of this city and maybe turn it into a series of paintings.

Here are some more quick sketches. Most are around 10-15 mins. The one at the very top of the city is an hour speed paint.

I hope you enjoy

Long Walk Ahead

Here is another speed painting from tonight. The goal with this one was to go easy on color but also have the color represent how this guy was feeling. Very dry and tired.

Desert Rock

Here is a quick 1 hour sketch from today. Just doing a little warm up before I start working on a matte painting.

waterfall

Wow it has been a while since I have posted here. From now on I will make sure to post all my speed paintings, color studies and anatomy drawings! I will start by posting this quick painting I did today. I don't usually do anything with waterfalls because they are done to death but I was looking at some photos today and noticed the nice yellow and blowns that some have and it really made me want to do a painting with those nice values.

This quick painting is also very Bill Cone inspired, if you haven't checked out his work before HERE is his blog.  His color studies are some of my favorite.
